Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you. – Ephesians 4:32
Having good character is something that is important to the Ed Thomas Family Foundation. The foundation helps carry on the legacy of Coach Ed Thomas and the example he set. Coach Ed Thomas painted the perfect picture of having good character. In preparation for Character Counts Week, it’s important to look at specific traits of good character and how it has played a role in the development of our organization and how it relates to your life. Showing forgiveness is just one of these traits.
Many of you know, this past August, we launched the book, “The Sacred Acre,” written by Mark Tabb. If you haven’t had the chance to read the book, I highly recommend it. This book shows how one person can influence so many others. It also poses the question of, “how do you want to be remembered?” Hopefully you want to be remembered as a person with good character.
Forgiveness. We all know this can be hard sometimes. Forgiveness is something that is highlighted in “The Sacred Acre.” Every one makes mistakes. No one is perfect. Part of having good character, is forgiving others.
Whether we like it or not, people are always watching us. Good character is contagious. If you show someone forgiveness, you never know who else might have seen that and went on to forgive someone in his or her life.
Keep up the good character and don’t forget to send us your stories!
