The Ed Thomas Family Foundation is very excited to be carrying on the legacy of Coach Thomas by providing a Leadership Academy to youth across the state of Iowa. Coach Thomas was passionate about his job because he loved making an impact in young people’s lives. He often said that the school was his mission field and since his death we have heard countless stories about the impact he had, not only on the students of Aplington-Parkersburg, but with people across the nation. He emphasized the importance of being a positive leader and impacting others to his students and football players and he exemplified it in his own life.
As a foundation, our goal is to continue his vision and passion for youth in a way that parallels everything Coach Thomas stood for. This is why we are so excited to offer the Ed Thomas Legacy Leadership Academy. This event will take place on October 2, 2014 at the Aplington-Parkersburg High School Auditorium from 9:00 – 2:00. We have four great speakers lined up that will be teaching the kids how to have a leadership role in their schools and communities and how to make an impact on others. We will be teaching character, leadership, impact, taking pride in what you do, teamwork and many other values that will carry on throughout the student’s lives.
